Normally I don’t talk about World of Warcraft on this site but today I make an exception. We have killed some of the hardest things to do and well we have very little left to accomplish before we are done with the game. I have built a solid crew of people and well the link below speaks for itself. We are merely 6 boss kills from being done. I’m glad that we’re getting that close to being done

Yes I know it’s only 10 man achievements/raiding, but all of us are working professionals and frankly, we kick a bit of ass. I’m sure that if we expanded to 25 solid people that I could count on all the time, we could do the same thing with 25 instead of 10. As it stands right now though we are maybe 2 to 4 short of having a full out second 10 man run going which would be nice to see, but I’m not leading that on top of everything else.

So I was reading it and thought wow….it’s describing my online persona and part of my real life as well. However the redemption is in the last panel. I know that I’m not boring, but damn if I wasn’t worried about the punch line. Then I realized it was a Dues XX parody. At least that’s what I think it is

So it’s been 2 and a few weeks since the last update so lets go over everything since then.

The second server upgrade went pretty flawless, 30 minutes to get it all done. Probably had something to do with the fact that I knew what to do this time. Then on the last night out there the fellow I was working with invited me over for dinner with his wife. It was pretty fun and awesome, we then proceeded to watch “The Day the Earth Stood Still” original version. There are so many religious indications in it that you don’t even really recognize until my host mentioned it after the movie.

Flight out the next afternoon and arrived in Calgary 2 hours (time zone wise) after I left. Ended up chilling with friends that night making a full 23 hour day. Don’t remember much, but certainly do remember that I really couldn’t have chosen any other people to chill with that night. Well could have had others there too, but it was good enough for that day.

Sunday was a second date with a lady that I’ve met off e-harmony. I’m sure if there’s a look for “it’s the second date, why didn’t you kiss me?” I got it. It was a really good date, but at the end of it I simply went for a hug. All my friends have asked why I didn’t kiss her and I think it’s just because for me, a kiss is so much more significant than anything else. Anyway it’s a little tricky as she works out of town, but has a house here. Also going through a bit of an early mid-life crisis. Which I seem to be able to deal with at the moment. “If you can’t handle a person at their worst, you don’t deserve them at their best”. Something I picked up along the way and stuck with me so I’m giving this a fair shot.

The work week after was pretty good. I’m on the tail end of finishing up my second project. Next on my list is to go back and modify my first one to work with a different engine. Then midweek last week, turns out my brother was coming up for the long weekend. And what a busy long weekend it was.

Time line goes from Saturday morning. He arrived late Friday night. I gave blood, Breakfast as Cora’s, shopping for a new watch for me, frisbee @ Eau Claire with some friends, sushi , Football game (Riders beat Calgary ), Rembrant pub, sleep, Dim Sum, SCBG, BBQ, Munchkin to end off Sunday night. I had to go pick up my roommate from the airport so we didn’t do much after that. He left Monday morning.
Funniest line of the weekend, “Time to go back to my non-nerdy life.” I dunno I found it funny as my brother doesn’t have people who he can play board games with, or things that challenge his mind more than school back home. Who knows though, I have fun here and I’m glad that he had a good time.

Monday was starting my contract work again, got a course due at the end of September and I’m determined to make sure I don’t get myself overloaded like I did at the beginning of the year with that other course I was working on. Well time to get back to work.
